01:
ARRIVING
AT COCHIN BY FLIGHT OR TRAIN |

On arrival our representative will meet and assist you
with transfer to Chiramel
Bungalow. This Heritage Home must have been
built in the year 1775. At the time Fort Kochi was
under the Dutch Rule (from AD 1663 to 1795). Now it
stands as a living witness to a glorious bygone era.
Constructed in limestone, tiles and teak the home has
been refurbished for the modern traveler. |

Later proceeds, Half Day City Tour. The sightseeing
shows you the prominent landmark of Cochin viz.
Jewish Synagogue
constructed in 1568. This is the oldest synagogue in
the Commonwealth. Known for mid 18th century hand
painted willow pattered floor tiles from China,
ancient scripts on copper plates etc. Visit the
“Dutch Palace” with
its wonderful murals depicting the entire story of the
Ramayana and Mahabharata on its walls. See
St. Francis Church:
built in 1503 by Portuguese. This is the first
European church built in India. |

COHIN TO
ALLEPPEY |

After breakfast, proceed to Alleppey (Kuttanad).
|
|
|
Alleppey called
the rice bowl of Kerala because of her wealth of paddy
crops is at the very heart of the backwaters. The
scenic countryside of
Kuttanad with its shimmering waterways also
has a rich crop of banana, cassava and yam. This is
perhaps the only region in the world where farming is
done 1.5 to 2 m below sea level. Inland waterways
which flow above land level are an amazing feature of
this region. |

On arrival check in at
Kainady Heritage Bungalow. This heritage
home is more than a century old villa situated on the
banks of the Manimala River. The large house is
adorned with massive wood work and grand furniture.

After breakfast at the Bungalow, transfer to the
Kerala Traditional House Boat. (Kettuvallam) |

The house boats of Kerala offer exquisite holidays
experiences. Every
Kettuvallam (house
boat) has a drawing cum dining room; a bath
attached bedroom, sit-out, sundeck and kitchenette.
The water-web slowly open ups at its secrets to you,
lush paddy field, pregnant palms, singing Siberian
ducks. This will be your memorable experience. |

Vembanad Lake and
canals to Alleppey. Visit includes

TO KUMARAKOM |

After breakfast the House Boat, transfer to Kumarakom.
|

Kumarakom is an
unbelievably beautiful paradise of mangrove forests,
emerald green paddy fields and coconut groves
interspersed with enchanting waterways and canals
adorned with white lines. Situated on the
Vembanad Lake, is this small water world you’ll come
across plenty of traditional country crafts, boats and
canoes which will take you into the heart of the
scenic lake. The resorts nearby offer comfortable
accommodation and exclusive leisure options like an
Ayurvedic Massage, yoga, meditation, boating, fishing,
angling and swimming etc. |

On arrival at Kumarakom transfer to
Nellikel House. Which
is a typical Kerala Nalukettu constructed in the form
of an ara and nira in fine teak, the aesthetically
furnished bedrooms offer a very cool and cozy
accommodation. |

05:
KUMARAKOM TO
THEKKADY |

After Breakfast, proceed to Thekkady. |

On
arrival by noon, check in at the
Wilder nest Bungalow.
This green and serene private space built with nature
friendly materials and design at a short distance from
Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary.
Each room is attached with a private garden or private
balcony offering soothing view of the Bamboo Jungle near
by. From here one can hear the subtle songs of nature. |

The most renowned destination is the Periyar Wildlife
Sanctuary at Thekkady. Here is the natural habitat of
Elephant, tiger, bison, spotted and samba deer, gaur,
etc. The sanctuary is open throughout the year. |

After break fast, proceed to
Vagamon. On arrival check in to
Retreat Bungalow. This
Bungalow is placed on a piece of land – landscaped by
nature. It is near the
Kurisumala rock ridges. The simple laid out
building is a country home with grand furnishings
situated on the Vagamon Hills.

thinking, "In a green country, what's the attraction of
yet another verdant spot" Well, the point is Vagamon is
not just any other verdant spot. Of course, you can get
grassy hills, velvet lawns and cool mountain air in many

Thangal hill, the
Murugan hill and the
Kurisumala, important
for Muslims, Hindus and Christians respectively. And
don't miss the nice, little dairy farm of the Kurisumala

THEKKADY ( VAGAMON TO MUNDAKAYAM ) |

After breakfast, proceed to
Mundakayam. On arrival check in at
Evergreen Bungalow.
Which is Kootickal, in the midland slopes of Mundakayam
Valley, known as the gateway to the highranges of Kerala.
Located amidst verdant rubber plantations and calm
surrounding bungalow is built in an Indo-colonial style
which was popular in the 1950 – 60 periods. |

The River Periyar flowing through the centre of this
town nourishes its vast tea, coffee and pepper
plantations. A major trade centre, Mundakayam is also
home to a number of Rubber Plantations and tea
factories. The Government Agriculture Farm and Flower
Garden have a delightful array of rose plants, orchids
and anthuriam. |

08:
THEKKADY (
MUNDAKAYAM ) TO COCHIN |

After breakfast, drive back to Cochin. |
|
|
On
arrival check in at Old Coat
yard Hotel. This heritage Hotel is the
reminiscent of colonial Portuguese architecture. Built
more than 200 years ago the Old Courtyard is
painstakingly restored to its original grandeur by its
present owners. The entire ancient arches and alcoves
around an enchanting courtyard give the building a great
sense of a nostalgic past. |
